Prevage Review - Comparing Normal And Prescription Strength Prevage
Posted Monday, March 05, 2007
Prevage anti-aging products have seen very sudden popularity these last few months, with a surge of word of mouth advertising circulating through loyal customers whom picked up the product on advice of the many physicians and dermatologists recommending Prevage MD to their patients.
I was one such patient, with problematic skin for many years now, caused by overexposure to the sun for many years, I sought expert opinion only to find myself wondering if this so called skin expert was trying to sell me something for profit at the end of the consultation. He recommended to me that I buy Prevage MD for my serious and long running wrinkle and prematurely aged skin problems, which he so convienenly had for sale right then and there for me if I had so chosen. Needless to say, I am a skeptical person, and I decided not to buy and to use my knowledge of the internet, to read and decipher prevage reviews and customer feedback online to see if this really was a suitable option for me and also to try and confirm my suspicion that he was trying to get me to pay a much higher price then that of which I could find elsewhere.
Customer feelings and prevage review research
I took my laptop and internet connection and went in pursuit of honest and impartial prevage md reviews and customer feedback, trying to figure out if this was really the breakthrough product I have seen it advertised as, as well as finding out if it was suited for my needs, and what kind of prices I really could buy this for. I already had a feeling that if this was truly a good option for my skin care needs, that the physician that recommended it and nearly sold it to me, was charging a much higher price, with a premium that he would pocket himself from my rushed and impulsive purchase from him.
And then I discovered something that I found highly interesting... I had read and concluded that although no scientific breakthrough, idebenone was incredibly powerful and appropriate for fighting the signs of aging, wrinkles and fine lines, but most importantly, that there was a much cheaper and easy to buy version of the Prevage treatment available, the none MD version of the same product.
It came at a much less damaging price range, and you wouldn't have to pursue buying it from a physician as it was readily available almost anywhere.
This non prescribed version of the Allergan Prevage product only contained 0.5% less idebenone, and I couldn't see how such a slight concentration change could really justify such a large price and availability differentiation then that of the MD version, so I decided to shift my focus and research on determining the differences and similarities between the two, trying to work out if the MD version was worth the additional money and hassle and if it truly provided superior results to justify the difference.
I continued searching and reading, deciphering and gathering reviews of the three prevage products (MD, non-MD and eye cream) looking now specifically for people that would state either a major difference, or no difference at all as I had suspected, in the MD compared to normal prevage products.
What I found was what I had assumed, the majority of customers overall had good things to say about prevage products as a whole for anti-aging and skin care purposes, but what they were also saying, was that there is no immediate difference between the two.
In many instances actually, prevage md is a more commonly negative rated and reviewed product, with a higher percentage of people reporting side effects such as skin irritation and itchiness (I have an easily irritable skin type, and suspect if I would have bought Prevage-MD I would have had troubles) something to definitely consider if you are looking at buying prevage but are prone to breakouts or have sensitive skin.
Another common negative association with the MD version of the treatment was that it was very expensive for the period of usage you achieve from one bottle and that prices can vary wildly depending on the store or skin specialist you choose to buy from. This correlated with the feeling I had that the physician was trying to get me to buy it at an increased price, and careful attention to individual pricing is a must to get the most value out of a decision to buy prevage md.
In conclusion Prevage MD vs. normal Prevage - Worthiness and pricing
All in all both products score very highly and look to be truly effective anti-aging treatments with highly persuasive customer reviews and testimonials.
But I wouldn't rush out and spend time trying to find a physician for the slightly stronger (0.5% concentration increase) MD treatment. The results you would achieve are probably not worth the adding cost nor effort in finding it and getting it prescribed, and may not provide you with better results at all, as some past customers suggested, depending on your skin type and seriousness I suppose.
The common general feeling and buzz about the two is that they are both highly effective yet provide similar results, only one is quite more expensive and a hassle to get your hands on, making it the less worthy purchase for those among us that can't realistically afford to shell out hundreds a month for mild appearance changes nor having to track down a prescription for physicians and dermatologists whom the company has allowed to resell their products.
That isn't to say that the prevage MD cream isn't more potent then the alternative, and it quite possibly could provide you with better results, but if you are an average person with modest earnings, all research and customer feedback indicated that the none-md version is the more fulfilling and satisfying cost effective solution to utilize the new and clinically proven idebenone ingredient for anti-aging benefits.
