With the last decades there have been many technological and scientific advancements that have lead to higher success rates in treatments. One of these advancements has been laser acne removal, a new and quite expensive form of acne treatment!

If you have tried other acne treatments, such as creams or pills and have not had the success you require, then you may want to try laser acne removal.

The first step, as with most acne treatments, is to visit your dermatologist or local GP, it is probably best to schedule a consultation for your first visit. During your session with your dermatologist he will examine your acne and the severity of it. He may suggest another treatment that he believe will be more suited for you, you may want to try this before going ahead with laser acne removal as it can be quite costly.

Your dermatologist will describe the treatment, the side effects, costs and answer any questions you may have about acne laser removal. Basically, it is, as the name suggests, a laser beam set at a very high temperature and frequency. Your dermatologist will then use this laser beam to treat the core cause of acne, which is actually under the skin.

This intense laser beam will destroy the existing infect and stimulate blood flow again, which will aid the tissue in repairing the damaged cells and skin. Your probably wondering, won't this really intense laser beam hurt?

During the treatment you will be given a anesthetic and therefore you will only feel minimal pain and discomfort. Usually only 2 sessions of laser acne removal are required to treat acne effectively. You must also bare in mind that this type of treatment, although effective and with high success rates, is very expensive, so you must weigh up the pros and cons of this treatment.
