People who suffer with skin acne my be a little apprehensive about putting moisturiser on their face because they fear it might clog their pores and cause more break outs.

It's true that moisturisers could clog your pores but if you follow a few simple rules then you'll know what type is best for your skin.

  1. Find out what type of skin you have so that you can buy a moisturiser designed for that particular skin type. If you don't use the correct moisturiser then you could aggravate your skin instead of clearing it.
  2. This tip goes for all skin types. Look for hypoallergenic products. These are designed to be suitable for all types of skin to avoid allergic reactions.
  3. Essential oils are effective in moisturiser products. They are a natural way to nourish the skin and fight off acne causing bacteria.
  4. Products that contain essential oils but are free from any other oils are the best. Man made oils tend to clog your pores because they are not naturally like the oils found in your skin. Hyaluronic acid, is a natural lubricant produced by the body so stay on the look out for moisturisers that contain this ingredient.

Glycerin is popular ingredient in skin care products. The main reason is because it attracts moisture to your skin to keep it healthy and functioning efficiently.

Other natural ingredients to check for are jojoba and lanolin. These are similar to the sebum (oil) that your skin excretes to keep itself moisturised and healthy.
